Baseball Hosts Hornets This Weekend

GW welcome Delaware State for three-game series
WASHINGTON - GW baseball returns to The Tuck this weekend for a three-game series with Delaware State. The two teams will square off in a nine-inning and seven-inning doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. followed by a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
There will be not be a live stream available this weekend, but live stats will be available for all three games.
LAST TIME OUT: GW dropped two out of three to Seton Hall over the weekend to fall below .500 for the first time since Opening Day. Steve DiTomaso had a solid series at the dish, going 7-for-11 (.636) with a four-hit day on Friday and three more hits on Sunday.
BAR-RAKE-IAN: Steve Barmakian has hit safely in 10 consecutive games and continues to rate among the best hitters in the A-10. Barmakian is second in the league in batting average (.420) and hits per game (1.62) and third in on-base percentage (.508). Not only that, he has been the second-hardest hitter in the league to strike out with just one K per 16.7 at-bats.
ABOUT THE HORNETS: Delaware State is 4-7 on the season entering the weekend following a four-game split with Coppin State last week. The Hornets possess one of the top offenses in the country hitting .311 as a team to lead the MEAC and rank 12th in the NCAA. John Weglarz, Trey Paige and Miguel Rivera are the top three hitters in the league and are all top-80 nationally. On the mound, DSU holds a 10.94 ERA.
GW is 15-8-1 all time against Delaware State, having won each of the last five matchups.
