Colonials have won seven straight over the Minutewomen
WASHINGTON - GW women's basketball wraps up its brief two-game homestand on Sunday afternoon, welcoming in Massachusetts for the lone meeting between the two teams this year. Tip is set for noon.
SERIES HISTORY: The Colonials have won seven straight games over the Minutewomen, the second-longest active winning streak for GW over a conference opponent (Rhode Island, nine).
The Buff & Blue have never lost to UMass at the Smith Center, posting a perfect 23-0 record in the all-time series. UMass has not visited D.C. in nearly two years (Feb. 14, 2018), a 55-49 triumph for the Colonials.
STEP INTO OUR (POST) OFFICE: Graduate student Alexandra Maund and sophomore Kayla Mokwuah have been the reliable sources of GW's scoring in league play, averaging a combined 24.8 ppg. The duo has collectively scored 44.8% of GW's points against A-10 competition and is shooting a combined 57.7% from the floor (52/90).

The duo has collectively scored 44.8% of GW's points against A-10 competition and is shooting a combined 57.7% from the floor (52/90).
Maund and Mokwuah have made more shots together than the rest of the team combined (49) in the first five A-10 games. Outside of their efficient production, GW is shooting just 26.6%.
LEAPS AND MAUNDS: Maund reached double figures for the sixth consecutive game on Wednesday, averaging 13.5 ppg during the stretch. Maund has elevated her game in league play, leading the team with 14.2 ppg while shooting 56.6% from the field, marks that rank ninth and sixth, respectively, against A-10 foes.
Maund's mark is made even more impressive due to her efficiency, playing the fewest minutes of anyone among the top 12 scorers in the league. Her 23.1 points/40 minute rate ranks third in the circuit behind the loop's top two scorers.
GROWING UP BEFORE OUR EYES: Kayla Mokwuah has scored at least eight points in each A-10 game, posting three double-figure efforts and averaging 10.6 ppg in the stretch. Combined with her standout play against league teams last year, Mokwuah is averaging 8.2 ppg in 20 career A-10 games.
Much like Maund, efficiency has been Mokwuah's greatest asset, shooting at 59.5% from the floor in A-10 play, the third-best mark in the league. She has shown a great progression in her second year at the college level, increasing her overall scoring production by 34% (6.5 to 8.7) and rebounding by 32% (3.7 to 4.9).
A LOOK AT THE MINUTEWOMEN: UMass got off to a tremendous start this season, winning 10 games in a row, including their first four league contests, to improve to 14-3. However, the Minutewomen have been slowed in their last two affairs with setbacks at Rhode Island (69-66) and on Wednesday vs. VCU (61-46). Hailey Leidel has transformed into one of the top players in the league, pacing UMass with 16.7 ppg thanks to shooting 41.5% from beyond the arc. Sam Breen (16.1), Destiney Philoxy (12.4) and Vashnie Perry (10.0) give the Minutewomen four players in double figures.
UMass possesses the second-best offense in the league (69.9 ppg) and holds a league-best +4.95 turnover margin.
