Women’s Basketball, West Virginia Announce Three-Year Contract

The George Washington women's basketball team has announced a three-year contract with West Virginia that extends to the 2028-29 season. The agreement will see GW travel to Morgantown for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign, the Mountaineers heading to the nation's capital in 2027-28 and the Revolutionaries returning to Hope Coliseum again in 2028-29.
Scheduled for Nov. 5, this year's matchup with West Virginia will be the first since 2023 when the Mountaineers escaped with a narrow 54-51 win at the Puerto Rico Shootout. The former Atlantic 10 members have squared off with the Buff & Blue 27 times, holding a slight 14-13 lead in the all-time series. GW enjoyed dominant success over WVU in the 1990s, winning five consecutive games from 1993-1995, with an average margin of victory of 25.4 points per game.
Joining the Big XII in 2012, WVU has won two conference titles since, including last season's Big XII Tournament Championship. The Mountaineers have also made four consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament, including Round of 32 appearances in each of the last three seasons.
The Buff & Blue return five players from last year's squad, including Gabby Reynolds, who enters the year as one of the A-10's premier players. The junior guard was an all-conference third team selection a year ago and finished ninth in the league in scoring at 14.6 ppg. Sara Lewis, Kamari Sims, Tanah Becker and Jaeda Wilson all return for GW as well.
GW's roster also consists of eight newcomers, including five transfers and three first-years. The transfer group brings a combined 293 games of collegiate experience to GW and has scored 1,985 career points.
