The Colonials are looking for a top-four finish to qualify for the Team Race National Championship
SETTING SAIL: A week after recording its best finish in program history at the ultra-competitive Dellenbaugh Women's Trophy, GW sailing looks for forward momentum at the Prosser Trophy hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland.
The regatta serves as the Team Race Conference Championship and a qualifier for the Intercollegiate Sailing Association National Championship in the discipline. The Colonials are looking for a top-four finish to move on to nationals, which will be held May 25-27 in Newport, R.I., in between the Women's (May 21-24) and Coed Championships (May 28-31).
LOOK BACK: A season ago, GW made history at the Prosser by finishing second with a 15-6 record to move on to Team Race Nationals for the first time. Skippers Andrew Sheerin and Derek Poon-Tip and crew Connor West return from that group to compete against this year's field.
GW LINEUP: The Colonials have a deep and experienced lineup with seven seniors making the trip.
Andrew Sheerin / Zach Lehan / Connor West
Derek Poon-Tip / Clare Cassidy-Gardner / Riley Legault
Matt Logue / Michael Houllahan / Marshall McCraw
Wade Wagner / Mercedes McPhee / Alexandra Fayer
WATCH: Assistant coach Catherine Shanahan, West and Legault preview the weekend.
