GW finishes races at Singlehanded National Championship
NEWPORT R.I. - Three GW sailors wrapped up their weekend in Newport, R.I. at the Singlehanded National Championship, finishing 17th, 20th and 26th in the country.
Soenke Jordan owned the 17th spot while Michael Ehnot and Matt Priebe placed 20th and 26th, respectively.
"We showed a lot of grit against a really tough fleet this year," Head Coach Billy Martin said. "Conditions were very windy and wavy both days. Our fitness kept us competitive with the rest of the fleet," said Martin.
The team will now train for its final competitions of the season. Women's nationals will be at Navy on May 19-20 and coed nationals will also be at Navy on June 7-8.
"The team is looking forward to getting back on the water and getting the opportunity to compete at this year's national championships," said Martin.
