ST. MARY'S, Md. — The GW sailing team finished eighth at the St. Mary's Team Race over the weekend.
The Colonials went 3-6 with wins over Old Dominion, South Florida and host St. Mary's.
"I think our record was worse than how we performed over the weekend," said head coach Billy Martin. "But with a young team, it's better to learn these lessons now than later in the season."
GW is slated to compete at three events next weekend: The Graham Hall Team Race, Washington College Team Race and St. Mary's Women's Regatta.
