The event returns to Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando for the fourth straight year
TEEING OFF: The GW golf team opens play in the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship on Friday at Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando, which is playing host to the event for the fourth consecutive year.
GW will tee off with St. Bonaventure and Dayton beginning at 8:15 a.m. Friday. Play continues with round two on Saturday and concludes with the third and final round on Sunday.
GW LINEUP: Senior Logan Lowe will compete in his fourth championship while junior Adrian Castagnola is playing for the second time. Junior Clifford Thompson and first-years Logan Othmer and Luis Alfonso Preciado are making their first appearance.
REGULAR SEASON REWIND: GW's regular season was highlighted by winning the Atlantic 10 Match Play Championship in Miami on Feb. 18-19, marking the second consecutive season the Colonials have taken home a tournament title after a six-year gap without one. The Colonials also took third-place finishes at the Patriot Intercollegiate in September and the Bash at the Beach in March.
GOING LOWE: A three-time All-Atlantic 10 selection and the reigning A-10 Golfer of the Year, Lowe heads into the championship looking to add to what has already been a legendary career at GW. The California native is on track to set the school's career scoring record while he'll own the top three single-season scoring marks in program history, including a 71.32 average this season.
Lowe's name can be found all over GW's record book. His four career victories tie the school record, while he owns the records for low round (64), low 54-hole tournament score (206) and rounds in the 60s (24).
THE FIELD: Davidson is the reigning champion after holding off Dayton and Rhode Island last season. The 11-team field also includes Fordham, George Mason, La Salle, Richmond, Saint Joseph's, Bonnies and VCU.
WATCH: Lowe, Castagnola and Othmer preview the weekend ahead.
