Pasteur & Brophy Earn A-10 Weekly Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - George Washington senior third baseman Isaiah Pasteur has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the second consecutive week while freshman outfielder Colin Brophy was tabbed as the conference's Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Pasteur is the first Colonial to win multiple A-10 Player of the Week awards in the same season since Justin Albright in 2013. He is also the first GW player to earn the award in consecutive weeks since Athletic Hall of Famer Mike Bassett in 2002.
Pasteur extended his hitting streak to 15 consecutive games by recording multiple hits in all four of GW's games last week as the Colonials played to a 3-1 record.
In total, he batted an even .500 (10-for-20) with five extra-base hits (three doubles, two home runs), drove in nine runs, scored seven times, walked twice and stole three bases. His slugging percentage for the four games was .950 while his on-base percentage was .522
He started his week by going 2-for-5 with three runs, two stolen bases and a walk in GW's 13-2 rout of Towson.
In Friday's doubleheader at Dayton he finished a combined 5-for-10 with three doubles, one home run and six RBI. He concluded his week by going 3-for-3 with three runs, one home run, three RBI one walk and a stolen base in Sunday's finale.
Brophy, a redshirt freshman outfielder from Encino, California, batted .357 (5-for-14) over four games last weekend with three extra-base hits to earn his first career A-10 Weekly Award.
He started his week by reaching base for the 12th consecutive game against Towson, finishing 2-for-4 with a RBI, run scored and stolen base.
He had a big day in game two of a doubleheader at Dayton, finishing 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and a RBI. He wrapped his week with a double, two runs and a walk in Sunday's 17-2 win over the Flyers.
