Baseball Sweeps #RevRivalry Doubleheader

FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Washington baseball team surged past Revolutionary Rival George Mason with a convincing doubleheader sweep on Sunday to pick up its second consecutive conference series win.
The Colonials took a 4-1 win in game one before clubbing their way to a 12-5 win in the nightcap.
GW improves to 26-23 overall on the year with a 10-8 mark in the conference and now sits tied for fourth place with six games to play.
Game 1: GW 4, George Mason 1
Freshman Elliott Raimo dazzled again in his second consecutive complete-game victory to lead the Colonials to a 4-1 win in the first game.
Raimo allowed just one run on six hits with one walk and four strikeouts on 112 pitches. In his last two starts, he has given up just one run on eight hits with 13 strikeouts and two walks over 18.0 innings.
Senior Cody Bryant plated the go-ahead runs for the Colonials with a two-out, two-run double in the top of the third. Senior Joey Bartosic had doubled with two outs, while senior Andrew Selby walked, before scoring on Bryant's double to right field.
The top of the order again helped manufacture a run in the fifth when Bartosic walked and moved to third on a single by Selby. A perfectly executed double steal gave the Colonials a 3-0 lead.
Junior Brandon Chapman capped the scoring with a RBI single in the sixth, and Raimo took care of business down the stretch, allowing just one hit over his final four innings, to clinch the win.
Game 2: GW 12, George Mason 5
Freshman Nate Fassnacht clubbed two homers and drove in five runs, and senior Bobby Campbell went 4-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs as the Colonials used a pair of big innings to sweep the Patriots in the finale.
All of GW's runs came across in two innings, an eight-run fourth and a four-run sixth.
Mason built a 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and third innings before the Colonials broke the game open.
The fourth inning started with a bloop and a blast, courtesy of a leadoff single from Campbell and a two-run homer to left field by Fassnacht, which tied the score 2-2.
The next batter was junior Robbie Metz who doubled and scored on a RBI single by Chapman, which put GW ahead for good at 3-2.
Later in the inning, Selby singled home a run ahead of a two-run double down the right field line by Bryant that put the game out of reach at 6-2. Campbell capped the inning with with a two-run shot to deep left field, putting the Colonials out front, 8-2.
Mason cut the deficit to 8-4 before the Colonials erupted again in the sixth inning, plating four runs on four hits. A sacrifice fly by Bryant was followed by a three-run blast to left field by Fassnacht for his second homer of the day.
Junior Kevin Hodgson earned the win in relief after pitching 1.2 innings with one earned run.
Senior Eddie Muhl earned the multi-inning save, going 4.1 innings to close the game with two hits, one run, two walks and three strikeouts.
