The George Washington baseball team dropped Friday's series opener with Saint Louis, 3-0, at Tucker Field. The Revolutionaries fall to 11-21 on the year and 5-8 in conference action.

Jack Kent tallied GW's first hit of the day in the third, dropping a bunt down to the pitcher and beating out the throw to the bag. Nick Mullen was responsible for the second hit in the bottom of the eighth, a hard-hit ball that got past the Billikens' shortstop deep in the hole.

SLU's Ben Cherico tossed the complete-game shutout, striking out 10 batters in the process. Despite the loss, Max Haug finished with a respectable 6.0 innings of work, striking out five batters, including his 150^th career punchout, and allowing three earned runs. Gavin Miller tossed 3.0 shutout innings in relief.

GW looks to even the series tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. on ESPN+. Prior to first pitch, GW legend Sam Perlozzo will be honored with a No. 4 banner in left field at The Tuck, honoring his career with the Buff & Blue and as the only GW baseball alum to serve as an MLB Manager.
