THE BIG 3-0: The win last Saturday over Saint Joseph's gave GW 30 wins on the season. It marks the second time in the past three years that the Colonials have hit the 30-win mark, and just the 13th time in program history. The current win total also is tied for the 10th-most in a single season in program history.
SENIOR SENDOFF: GW's prolific senior class has led the program to 116 victories and three consecutive postseason berths over the past four seasons. Once the youngest starting lineup in the nation, the Colonials now have one of the most seasoned and experienced lineups in all of college baseball.
The class has led the resurgence of the GW baseball program and the next step would be to capture the program's fifth Atlantic 10 Championship (1979, 1989, 1992, 2002).
GOLD GLOVES: A big reason for GW's successful regular season has been the exceptional defensive effort throughout. The Colonials lead the Atlantic 10 in the major defensive categories while boasting national top-10 rankings in fielding percentage (10th, .981), double plays (9th, 57) and double plays per game (7th, 1.65).
SOLID AT THE PLATE: The defensive effort has been complemented at the plate as the Colonials finished the regular season ranked second in the A-10 with a team batting average of .288.
Five of GW's everyday position players are batting batter than .300, with senior first baseman and MVP Bobby Campbell leading the way and ranking fourth overall in the A-10 at .351.
BULLPEN BRILLIANCE: GW's back end of the bullpen is responsible for finishing off a number of GW's wins this season. The Colonials boast a 25-3 record when leading after six innings, 24-1 after seven innings and 27-2 after eight innings.
Senior closer Eddie Muhl is tied for second in the league with 11 saves while boasting a 1.87 ERA over a team-high 23 appearances.
Sophomore Will Kobos has bounced back in a big way after missing last season due to injury. He holds a 4-1 record and a 1.85 ERA with 40 strikeouts over 39.0 innings. Kobos' numbers are more impressive against A-10 opponents, where he boasts a 0.98 ERA and 17 strikeouts in eight appearances.
SCOUTING SAINT LOUIS: The fifth-seeded Billikens finished the regular season with a 32-20 overall record and a 12-10 mark in the Atlantic 10.
SERIES HISTORY: The Billikens lead the all-time series 16-7 and swept last year's regular-season series against GW. However, the Colonials exacted revenge with a 5-1 win in an elimination game of last season's A-10 Championship in Bronx, New York.
