GW Baseball Falls at Virginia, 15-3

WASHINGTON - The George Washington baseball team was unable to contain the offense of the defending national champions in a 15-3 loss at Virginia on Wednesday afternoon at Davenport Field.
Virginia (19-12) scored in each of the first six innings, including five in the first inning and a four-run sixth to build a 15-0 lead before GW scored three runs across the final three frames.
Senior Matthieu Robert's RBI double and another RBI by junior Andrew Selby made the score 15-2 in the top of the eighth inning. GW (11-19) added a run in the top of the ninth on an error.
Junior Bobby Campbell finished with two hits for his 10th multiple-hit game of the season.
Junior Jordan Sheinkop took the loss after allowing seven runs on five hits and five walks in two innings.
GW resumes Atlantic 10 play this weekend when it opens a three-game series at Davidson on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
