GW Baseball Concludes Homestand With Two Midweek Games

GW won the first game of last weekend's series against George Mason on Friday before falling on Saturday and Sunday.
Junior Ryan Xepoleas is batting .299 in 28 games this season to pace the Colonials' offense. He leads the team with two triples and is tied for the team lead with seven doubles in addition to nine RBIs and four stolen bases.
Freshman Colin Gibbons-Fly leads the Colonials with 13 RBIs on the season while classmate Bobby Campbell ranks second with 10 RBIs along with a .289 batting average.
GW is one of two Division I programs to start at least seven freshmen position players in half of its 2014 games, along with Austin Peay of the Ohio Valley Conference.
Coppin State carries an 8-17 record into Tuesday's game after winning two-of-three from UMES over the weekend. The Eagles' offense is led by Jack Kraft, who is batting .297 with three doubles, three triples and 17 RBIs.
The Colonials have never lost to the Eagles, holding a 29-0 record in the all-time series. The teams last met in 2010 with GW sweeping a three-game series at Barcoft Park.
GW leads the all-time series against Towson, 32-7-2, after last season's series split. The Tigers are 14-12 entering Wednesday's game after dropping a three-game series to the College of Charleston. Brandon Gonella leads Towson's offense with a .303 batting average while Peter Bowles and Dominic Fratantuono share the team lead with 16 RBIs apiece.
