
Colonials Fall To La Salle, 7-2

ARLINGTON, VA - The George Washington University baseball team lost on Saturday at Barcroft Park to the La Salle Explorers by the score of 7-2. Junior Ryan Lapointe came out of the bullpen and pitched the final six innings for the Colonials and allowed just two earned runs.
Redshirt junior Sean Rockey was once again the catalyst for the offense as he collected two hits and a walk to raise his team-leading batting average to .420 thie year. Sophomore Brendon Kelliher also had two hits and Brandon Gillette got the start in the right field and collected two hits of his own.
Explorer right hander Kevin Fuqua threw a complete game and picked up his fourth win of the season.
The series will conclude on Sunday when the Colonials send right hander Pat Lehman to the mound and will look to take two of three from La Salle. The senior right hander is 4-2 on the season with a 2.18 ERA. He has thrown a team-leading 62 innings and has 61 strikeouts.
