ANNAPOLIS, MD -- GW's Raman Luthra (East Amherst, NY) carded a 147 (72-75) to tie for 25th, nine strokes off the pace, in the Navy Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday at Annapolis, MD. GW freshman Conor McMahon (Portsmouth, RI) matched Luthra with a 71-76 (147). GW sent two teams to compete with the A team finishing eighth and the B team placing in a tie with Duquesne for 15th place among 18 teams. The Colonials tied for second at the same event a year ago.
The Colonials A squad combined to shoot a 23-over-par 591 (289-302) at the par-71, 6,611-yard Naval Academy Golf Course. The GW B team shot a 611 (299-312). Loyola won the tournament with an 8-over-par 576 (290-286) to edge Penn and Winthrop by two strokes.
North Dakota State's Eric Johnson was the individual medalist after winning a playoff over Loyola's Blake Ferguson.
GW freshman Tyler Wendelken (Samammish, WA) tied with teammate Juan Pablo Zuluaga (Bogota, Colombia) for 30th place both with 148s.
