The wealth was spread around, as five Colonials drove in multiple runs. In all, the Colonials smacked 17 hits in the contest. First Baseman Matt Krimmel (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland) also added a home run, and Pitcher Ron Christie (Lincroft, NJ/Middletown) pitched six strong innings to record his first victory of the season.
In game two, the Colonials used timely hitting and the masterful pitching of Glenn Skutnik (Lorton, VA/Hayfield) to earn an easy 9-1 victory. Skutnik pitched six innings, allowing only one run on four hits while striking out six Peacocks. The Colonials also provided Skutnik with plenty of support, led by Outfielder Dan Rouhier (McLean, VA/St. Alban’s) who hit a first-inning two-run home run and drove in three runs in the contest. Designated Hitter Travis Crowder (Manassas, VA) and Second Baseman Nick Iovacchini both added three hits in the contest, with Crowder also stealing three bases.
The Colonials (4-6) will attempt to complete the three game sweep of the Peacocks (0-2) tomorrow afternoon at Barcroft Park. The game starts at 12:00 p.m.
