Baseball Drops Series Finale to La Salle

The Buff & Blue jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, thanks to three runs in the third inning. The first came off the bat of Jack Kent, who lined a single into left field to score Connor Jones. The next two came on a sacrifice fly to right field, which allowed two runners to score on the play.
La Salle answered back with a run of their own in the fourth, but GW matched it in the bottom of the inning with an RBI double from Kent, scoring C. Jones.
From there, it was all La Salle, as the Explorers added two runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings and chipped in one more insurance run in the eighth to seal the win.
Declan Wywoda earned the start for GW, tossing 5.0 innings and striking out one batter. Henry Knighton tossed one scoreless inning out of GW's bullpen. The loss was charged to Drew Harris, dropping him to 1-2 this year.
GW looks to bounce back on Tuesday, traveling to UMBC for a 3:00 p.m. first pitch on the America East Network.
