Following a series win over La Salle last weekend, the George Washington baseball team returns to action this week for four road games over the next five days. The Revolutionaries travel to UMBC for a Tuesday matchup at 3:00 p.m., before heading to Olean, N.Y., to face St. Bonaventure for a three-game series on Thursday (3:00 p.m.), Friday (2:00 p.m.) and Saturday (1:00 p.m.). Tuesday's game will be available on the America East Network, while all three games at the Bonnies will be carried live on ESPN+.
UMBC enters the week 13-9, riding a four-game winning streak and a sweep over UAlbany last weekend. The Retrievers are 5-1 in the America East this season, taking two of three against Maine to open conference action. GW and UMBC were scheduled to meet in early March at Tucker Field, but inclement weather caused the game to be postponed, with no makeup date scheduled at this time.
The Retrievers are led by Head Coach Liam Bowen, who is in his seventh season with the program. Bowen holds a 131-157 career record, leading the program to a 30-win season in 2022-23 and three 20-win seasons from 2022-24. Offensively, the program is led by Kyle Eddington, who's batting .348 at the dish this season. Eddington has 23 total hits and has driven in 14 RBI. UMBC's complete 2026 stats can be found here.
St. Bonaventure sits at 5-20 this year, coming off a weekend series where it was swept by VCU. The Bonnies are 1-8 in A-10 games this year, picking up their lone win against Saint Louis on March 22. SBU also has wins over Navy, Middle Tennessee and UNC Asheville. St. Bonaventure is led by skipper Jason Rathburn, who's in his fourth year with the program. He holds a 51-120 record in four years in Olean.
The Bonnies are led by Anthony Fernandez, who's batting .361 at the dish. He has a team-best 35 hits, including eight doubles and 13 RBI. Manuel Castro is batting .330 with 11 doubles and 16 RBI. Antonio Cordeiro leads the Bonnies with 20 RBI. On the mound, David James, Nolan Feidt and Enger Paulino have made seven starts apiece. James leads the group with a 3.12 ERA in 34.2 total innings, accumulating a team-best 38 strikeouts and an opponent batting average of .221. St. Bonaventure's full 2026 stats can be found here.
