Baseball's Walker Named A-10 Player of the Week

WASHINGTON, DC -- Senior Matt Walker (Pittsburgh, PA/Richland) has been
named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week for baseball, the
conference office has announced. It marks the second time this season
Walker has won the award.
Walker earned the award for his efforts in a three-game series versus Xavier University this past weekend. In -the series, Walker went 9-12 with two home runs, two doubles and five RBI's. In the first game of the series, Walker went 3-3 with two doubles and a home run to lead the Colonials to an 11-4 victory. In the final game of the series, Walker went 4-5 on the day, including a two-run home run, his ninth on the season, to help GW for an 11-5 win.
For the year, Walker is hitting .417 overall with 13 doubles, 9 home runs and 64 RBI's.
The Colonials travel to George Mason Tuesday to take on the Patriots at 3:00 p.m. at Hap Spuhler Field.
