Following the second weekend of the Atlantic 10 season, the George Washington baseball team returns home for four games at Tucker Field over a six-day span. The Revolutionaries welcome VMI on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m., before hosting La Salle for a three-game series starting on Friday (3:00 p.m.) and extending into Saturday (1:00 p.m.) and Sunday (12:00 p.m.). Games on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday will be carried live on ESPN+.
VMI enters the week 19-4 following a 2-1 weekend at Radford. The Keydets have won four of their last five games, and started the year 9-1, with their lone loss to Virginia. VMI is led by Head Coach Sam Roberts, who's in his fourth season with the program. Roberts has led VMI to 25 or more wins in each of his first three seasons, the first time that's happened in 17 years for the team. The Keydets finished fifth in the nation in batting average at .322 in Roberts' second season, and the team has led the nation the past two seasons in stolen bases.
Grayson Fitzwater leads the program with a .413 batting average. He's tallied 31 total hits in 75 at-bats, tallying nine home runs and 32 RBI. Fitzwater has scored 27 runs and holds a slugging percentage of .920. In total, the Keydets have four players with on-base percentages over .500, led by Fitzwater with .574, while Cole Cook is second on the team at .525. VMI's full 2026 stats can be found here.
La Salle, which makes its return to the A-10 baseball scene this season, is sitting at 11-12 entering the week with games against Penn (Tuesday) and Saint Peter's (Wednesday), before traveling to Tucker Field this weekend. The Explorers were swept by VCU in their first A-10 series of the weekend, but bounced back to take two of three against Davidson last weekend. La Salle tossed a combined no-hitter against the Wildcats on Sunday, with Kross Howarth, Josh Beck and Titus Shay combining for the no-no. David Miller returns to La Salle after serving as head coach of the program from 2017-21. After baseball was removed as a varsity sport, Miller spent one year at D-III Penn State-Abington, then served as the skipper at Manhattan for two seasons. Miller returned to La Salle campus in 2024, tasked with rebuilding the program for its return in 2026.
Chase Swain leads the club with a .371 batting average, the only member of the team above .300 this season. Swain has 33 hits, including seven doubles, three homers and three triples. He's driven in 20 RBI and scored 29 runs. Jace Terry and Ryan Bowen have each made five starts this year to lead the pitching staff. Terry leads the way with a 1-1 record, holding a 5.25 ERA over 24.0 innings pitched. La Salle's 2026 season stats can be found here.
