Lacrosse Drops Late to Mount Saint Mary’s

Emmitsburg, Md. - Despite regaining the lead of Wednesday's contest vs. Mount Saint Mary's, the GW lacrosse team ultimately dropped to the Mountaineers, 11-8 in Emmitsburg, Md.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mount opened up the afternoon with momentum, putting up an early 3-1 lead before GW fought back in the second to keep the hosts scoreless until halftime and take a narrow 4-3 lead. In the third, both defenses remained vigilant, and the Revolutionaries narrowly outscored the Mountaineers, 2-1, to lead by two with 15 minutes left to play. The Mount put up seven goals in the final frame, and despite a late-game goal from Grace Curry, it was not enough to overcome the host's lead, and George Washington dropped the matchup, 11-8.
