Lacrosse Stumbles Against Nationally-Ranked Richmond

GW lacrosse struggled to find its footing against the league-leading Richmond Spiders on Saturday afternoon, ultimately falling 19–6 in conference play.
The contest opened in a 1–1 tie, but the Revolutionaries were limited to just two goals for the remainder of the first half, while Richmond surged ahead with 10 goals in the opening 30 minutes.
The second half belonged to the Spiders, who extended their lead to as many as 13 goals en route to the 19–6 final.
In the loss, Daisen Iwan led GW with two goals, while also adding two ground balls and four draw controls. Mia Milkowski recorded the Revolutionaries' lone assist of the game, and Merrill Klein contributed three ground balls. Stella Ray caused two turnovers, and Gabi Greth made seven saves in goal.
GW returns home to the Vern next Saturday, April 18, to host Duquesne for Senior Day. Opening draw is set for noon, with a pregame ceremony honoring the academic and athletic accomplishments of the team's nine seniors. The matchup with the Dukes will also be broadcast on ESPN+.
