GW lacrosse has placed six of its student-athletes on A-10 All-Conference teams, ahead of the A-10 Championship beginning on Thursday afternoon.
Â
Headlining the honorees is first-year Mia Milkowski, who was named Rookie of the Year. Milkowski earned A-10 Rookie of the Week honors four times this season, the most of any rookie in the league. She stepped into a starting role early and ranked fourth in the conference in points per game. Milkowski finished the season with 33 goals and 30 assists for 63 points, shooting an efficient .541 with an .803 shot-on-goal percentage. Milkowski is GW's third Rookie of the Year in program history and its first selection since 2009.
Â
Seniors Grace Curry and Stella Ray earned spots on the All-Conference First Team. They mark the first First Team selections for George Washington since 2015, and the first pair of First Team selections since 2012.Â
Â
Curry has established herself as one of the most prolific attackers in the NCAA, ranking among the top three goal scorers in the country for most of the season. She led the GW offense with a program-record 64 goals, while shooting an outstanding .587 with 76 shots on goal. Curry leads the A-10 in goals per game (4.27) by a margin of nearly one goal, while ranking third in points. This is the first All-Conference accolade for the senior attacker. She was also named to the All-Academic team.Â
Â
Ray was named a Preseason All-Conference defender and has lived up to that expectation with standout performances, including earning a Defensive Player of the Week honor nod. She recorded 24 ground balls, 16 caused turnovers and 39 draw controls, demonstrating her ability to disrupt, compete and secure possession for the Revolutionaries. The senior rounds out her career with her fourth-consecutive All-Conference selection, having earned Second Team All-Conference the past three seasons.Â
Â
Joining Milkowski on the All-Rookie team are Parker Febo and Daisen Iwan. Both were recognized this season as an A-10 Rookie of the Week. Febo recorded 33 goals and eight assists for 41 points, putting up 85 shots with 62 on goal. Iwan recorded 21 goals and three assists for 24 points, in addition to contributing 21 ground balls, a team-high 52 draw controls and seven caused turnovers. The trio of All-Rookie members is the program's most since 2012 and matches the program record set that season.
Â
Rounding out the list for the Revolutionaries on the All-Academic team is senior Parker Cranz. A force in the classroom and on the field, Cranz has been the backbone of GW's defense, starting all 15 games as a four-year starter, team captain and defensive leader with 12 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers this season.
Â
With a 9-7 record and a 4-5 mark in A-10 play, GW now turns its attention to its quarterfinal matchup tomorrow with No. 3 seed St. Bonaventure. The two teams met in the regular season finale and the Revolutionaries will look to bounce back after the Bonnies earned a 15-4 win. Live coverage of the conference championship will be available on ESPN+.Â
