HISTORY UP FOR GRABS IN HAMPTON
GW swimming and diving is looking to make history by being the first team to win both the men's and women's championships in five-consecutive seasons. GW's four-year sweep streak has already doubled the next-best combined men's and women's era for a program in the A-10, as long as West Virginia swept back-to-back at the 1994 & '95 championships.
Also on the line for GW's men's team is a chance to tie the longest era of dominance in A-10 men's swim & dive history. The longest championship streak in conference history belongs to UMass with six consecutive titles from 2007-12. GW can match that record this week as it goes for its sixth-straight win.
GW women's swimming & diving is attempting to win its fifth-consecutive conference championship, which would lengthen GW's already third-longest title run in A-10 women's swim & dive history. Richmond owns both the longest and second-longest championship runs in conference history, an eight-year streak from 2002-09 and a seven-year streak from 2011-17.
The 2025-26 Revolutionaries return five student-athletes who have won individual gold medals at prior A-10 Championships: Olivia Paquette in the 1-meter dive (2x) and 3-meter dive, Ganesh Sivaramakrishnan in the 100 back (2x), Ben Sosnowski in the 200 breast, Shae Stratton in the 200 back and Ava Topolewski in the 1650 free (3x) and 500 free (2x).
