Men’s Swimming & Diving Captures Fifth at CSCAA NIC

GW swimming & diving finished the CSCAA National Invitational Championships on Saturday. The Revolutionaries' men's team finished in fifth place out of 30 teams with 440 points, while GW's women's team finished in 25th place of 52 teams with 159 points.
Highlighting GW's performances on Saturday was Heitor Napolitano Fonseca Reis with a third-place finish in the men's 200-yard butterfly (1:46.68).
The Revolutionaries claimed a pair of top-ten distance swims, as the 2026 A-10 Most Outstanding Rookie Talya Erdogan finished sixth in the 1650 free (16:42.28), while veteran Daniel Choi tapped in ninth in the men's 1650 free (15:40.24).
Ben Sosnowski and Andres Brooks also made A-final appearances on Saturday. Sosnowski claimed eighth in the 200 breaststroke (1:58.23), while Brooks also claimed eighth in the 100 IM (49.41).
GW swimming & diving is sending three student-athletes to the NCAA Championships. On the women's team, seniors Ava Topolewski and Olivia Paquette will represent the Buff & Blue for the final time, as Topolewski makes her second NCAA Championships appearance and Paquette makes her NCAA Championships debut. On the men's team, sophomore standout Holden Thomas will make his first trip to NCAAs.
The women's NCAA meet begins Wednesday and runs March 18-21, while the men's NCAA meet runs March 25-28.
