GW men's swimming & diving backstroke and sprint freestyle specialist Holden Thomas made his NCAA Championships debut on Friday competing in the 100-yard backstroke prelims at McCauley Aquatics Center in Atlanta.
Thomas tapped in at 46.57 in the second heat of Friday morning's 100 back, finishing the event in 48th place.
Thomas concluded a standout sophomore season Friday, closing a year which included two record-setting swims and A-final appearances in all three events at A-10s. Thomas now sits alone atop GW's 50-yard free leaderboard (19.40), while he is tied at the top in the 100 back leaderboard (45.99) with All-American Gustav Hokfelt.
Thomas helped guide the Revolutionaries this season to its historic sixth-straight A-10 Championship, as GW tied UMass (2007-12) for the longest championship streak in A-10 men's swimming & diving history.
