Gymnastics Hosts 18th Lindsey Ferris Invitational Sunday

GW gymnastics will host its 18th annual Lindsey Ferris Invitational Sunday as it welcomes Cornell, Penn and West Chester to the Smith Center for a 1 p.m. meet. Live coverage of the home opening meet will be available on ESPN+, and tickets are still available to watch the action live from the Smith Center.

The day will commemorate the late GW alumna Ferris, who was a four-year performer on the gymnastics team and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in communication in 2001 before serving as a Presidential Administrative Fellow (PAF) while earning her master's degree in forensic science in 2003. Following graduation, she achieved great success by becoming a Special Agent for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations before her untimely passing.
· Recognized for exceptional performances in the season-opening meet, Deana Sheremeta was recognized as the EAGL Gymnast of the Week, while Aspen Tucker and Alison Mun were recognized as the league's Rookie and Rookie Specialist of the Week, respectively.
· West Chester arrives in Foggy Bottom after competing against Towson in its season opener, where the Golden Rams put up a 187.900.
LAST TIME OUT
· The Buff & Blue opened its season at the Terrapin Quad, placing third with a 193.200 mark. · Recognized for exceptional performances in the season-opening meet, Deana Sheremeta was recognized as the EAGL Gymnast of the Week, while Aspen Tucker and Alison Mun were recognized as the league's Rookie and Rookie Specialist of the Week, respectively.
A GLANCE AT THE OPPONENTS
· Cornell and Penn each opened their seasons at last Sunday's opening meet hosted by the Big Red. The Quakers earned the nod in the tri-meet with a 194.850 while the hosts finished with a 192.775. · West Chester arrives in Foggy Bottom after competing against Towson in its season opener, where the Golden Rams put up a 187.900.
