Gymnastics Collects Three Weekly EAGL Awards

GW gymnastics has collected three of the EAGL's four weekly awards, the conference announced on Wednesday morning. After impressive performances at the Terrapin Quad, GW's senior Deana Sheremeta has been named the Gymnast of the Week while first-years Aspen Tucker and Alison Mun have been named Rookie and Rookie Specialist of the Week, respectively.
Sheremeta competed in the all-around for the first time in her collegiate career on Friday evening and won both the all-around and beam competitions. The senior scored a 9.65 on vault, 9.7 on bars, 9.85 to win the beam competition and 9.825 on floor to finish the all-around with a winning 39.025.Â
Tucker, the Rookie of the Week, debuted in all four events for the Buff & Blue on Friday, finishing with a 9.7 on vault, 9.725 on bars, 9.075 on beam and 9.8 on floor. The first-year finished fifth overall in the floor competition and earned GW's second-highest floor score of the evening.
Mun bested her competition as a first-year on Friday evening and debuted her 9.875 winning vault to be named the Rookie Specialist of the Week.
GW now prepares to open its home slate on Sunday with the annual Lindsey Ferris Invitational, which honors the late GW gymnastics alumna. The Revolutionaries welcome Cornell, Penn and West Chester to the Smith Center for a 1 p.m. meet which will be carried live on ESPN+.Â
