WASHINGTON -Â GW gymnastics returns home on Sunday, hosting Penn State and Clemson in GW's first tri-meet of the season. Action in the Smith Center is slated to begin at 1 p.m., and will air live on ESPN+.
A GLANCE AT THE NUMBERS
With just three regular season meets left on the schedule, GW sits at No. 36 in the National Qualifying Score (NQS) rankings. Later in the month, the top 36 teams will be selected to advance to NCAA Regionals. A team's NQS score is calculated by taking a team's top six scores from the season, of which at least three must have been scored on the road, removing the highest score, and averaging the remaining five. The Buff & Blue currently hold a 195.460 NQS. In each individual event, GW ranks No. 34 in vault, No. 46 in bars, No. 35 on beam and No. 30 on floor. To see the full breakdown of NCAA gymnastics by the numbers, click here. MEET THE OPPONENTS
Entering its second season of competition, the Clemson Tigers arrive in the District ranked No. 28 in NQS. A member of the ACC, the Tigers have picked up meet wins over Pitt twice this season and are coming off a tri-meet win over UNH and Texas Woman's with a meet score of 195.825. Brie Clark was the first NCAA gymnast to successfully land the Biles I on floor at the meet as well. The Tigers earned their season-high 196.575 against Stanford on February 23.
