DeHaan, Sheremeta Earn Event Victories, Gymnastics Closes Regular Season at Maryland

College Park, Md. - Delaney DeHaan earned individual titles on vault, floor and in the all-around competition while Deana Sheremeta earned the balance beam title in Sunday's regular season finale at Maryland. As a team, the GW Revs (195.250) took third in the quad meet ahead of Yale (193.600), while falling behind Towson (195.975) and the host Terrapins (196.175).
On the beam, Sheremeta led the Buff & Blue, matching her career-high 9.900. In the anchor position, Maya Peters notched a 9.800, while in the leadoff, Kendall Whitman earned a 9.775 for GW. All-around competitor DeHaan earned a 9.775, while Lola Montevago tallied a 9.725. Madi McMullen finished off the rotation with a 9.050. GW finished the beam with a 48.975.
Moving to floor, DeHaan led the Revolutionaries with another 9.900 to win the event. Sheremeta finished closely behind with a 9.850, and Kylie Kazmierski led the GW Revs off with a 9.775. McMullen notched a 9.700, and Whitman finished her routine with a 9.625. Kasey Burke finished with a 8.825, and GW claimed a 48.850 floor event score.
On the vault, DeHaan led GW and the meet after a stuck landing to earn a 9.875. Rachel Katz followed right behind with a 9.850, and Burke finished with a 9.775. Whitman earned a 9.750 for 'The Whitman', and Montevago and Safran earned a 9.725 and a 9.700 to close out the third rotation for GW. The GW Revs finished the third apparatus with a 48.975, the highest vault rotation score of the meet.
Finishing the meet on the uneven bars, DeHaan once again led GW with a stuck 9.825 routine. Katz earned a 9.750, while McMullen (9.725) and Montevago (9.700) finished right behind Katz. Sophia Tyeryar (9.450) and Sheremeta (9.400) rounded out the final event for GW, with the bars team closing with a 48.450.
In the all-around, DeHaan finished with a 39.375, her second-highest of the season, to win that portion of today's competition.
With the regular season closed out, GW now faces the EAGL Championships in Philadephia, Pa., hosted by Temple. Action in the Liacouras Center is set for 5 p.m. on Saturday evening as GW looks for its first conference title since 2022.
