
Gymnastics Crowned 2025 EAGL Champions

PHILADELPHIA - In thrilling fashion, the GW gymnastics team earned the EAGL Conference title on Saturday evening with a score of 195.950, defeating Temple (195.775), New Hampshire (195.700), Towson (195.675) and LIU (194.000). The victory marks GW's fourth EAGL conference title and its first since 2022.
Beginning the evening on bars, the Buff & Blue matched its second-highest bars rotation score of the season with a 49.050, led by bars co-champion Lola Montevago, who earned a 9.900. Delaney DeHaan and Deana Sheremeta each notched a 9.825 to match their season-highs. Rachel Katz chipped in a 9.775, while Sophia Tyeryar also matched her season-high with a 9.725, Madi McMullen tallied a 9.700 to round out the rotation for GW.
Moving to the beam, Maya Peters led the GW Revs with a 9.850, and Kendall Whitman and Montevago each notched a 9.800 in the first two lineup spots. DeHaan finished with a 9.750. McMullen (9.400) and Sheremeta (9.000) completed the beam rotation for GW. At the meet's midpoint, GW had a 97.650 and a beam score of 48.600.
Floor, the team's top event of the evening, was stellar, with Whitman winning the event title for the third time of her career with an impressive 9.950. DeHaan earned her sixth 9.900 of the season, and Sheremeta chipped in a 9.875. In the leadoff spot, Kylie Kazmierski opened things up for the Buff & Blue with a 9.800, and McMullen (9.725) and Montevago (9.575) closed things out for the GW Revs with a team score of 49.250 to head to the final rotation.
Heading to the vault, the competition was tight, with GW falling right behind New Hampshire, but the Buff & Blue prevailed, securing the win with a 49.050 vault score. Led by vault champion DeHaan (9.875), GW also saw a 9.550 from Whitman, a 9.800 from Zoe Safran, a 9.775 from Katz, and two 9.750s from Montevago and Natalie Thomas to close things out victorious.
In addition, GW placed nine gymnasts on the all-tournament team to finish the evening's festivities. DeHaan, Whitman, Safran, Katz, Montevago, Sheremeta, Tyeryar, McMullen and Peters all earned recognition from the conference for their performances on Saturday evening.
