
DeHaan, Montevago, Sheremeta, Whitman Head to NCAA Regionals

WASHINGTON - Four GW gymnastics individual qualifiers – Delaney DeHaan, Lola Montevago, Deana Sheremeta and Kendall Whitman - are set to compete in NCAA Regionals on Thursday afternoon. The group will take part in the afternoon session at Penn State's Rec Hall with the competition slated to begin at 1 p.m. on ESPN+. THE FORMAT
DeHaan, competing in the all-around, will rotate with Ohio State, starting on bars, followed by beam, floor and vault. Sheremeta will begin on floor and will compete on both floor and beam with Michigan State, beginning the afternoon on floor. Montevago, on bars, and Whitman, on floor, will compete in their events in rotation with Kentucky. WHITMAN BACK FOR FOURTH NCAA APPEARANCE
Whitman returns to the national stage for the fourth time in her collegiate career, after competing on floor in both 2022 and 2023 and in the all-around last season. Whitman earned the individual title on floor at this year's EAGL Championship with a 9.950 and qualified for regionals with an NQS of 9.920 on floor. She was also honored as the EAGL Senior Gymnast of the Year for the second-consecutive season.
DEHAAN, MONTEVAGO, SHEREMETA MAKE NCAA DEBUTS
After winning EAGL Gymnast of the Year, DeHaan will make her NCAA debut competing in the all-around. The sophomore earned an all-around NQS 39.290, and was named to five All-EAGL teams, including first team recognition on vault, beam, floor and the all-around. Montevago qualified in her rookie campaign on the bars with an NQS of 9.890. In a dazzling first-year season, Montevago was honored as the EAGL Rookie of the Year and earned first team All-EAGL on both bars and beam. She was also honored as the bars co-champion at the EAGL Championships, earning a 9.900 on the event. Sheremeta will make her NCAA debut as a junior on two events, earning a floor NQS of 9.865 and a beam NQS of 9.865. She was named to three All-EAGL teams, including first team recognition on both of her qualifying events.
