Golf Closes Fall In Fifth at Monterrey Collegiate Classic

MONTERREY, Mexico - GW golf wrapped up its fall season with a fifth-place showing at the Monterrey Collegiate Classic, posting a season-best 2-under 862.
Playing in his home country, Manuel Barbachano was the star of the show for the Buff & Blue with a 6-under 210, placing sixth overall in the individual standings. Barbachano carded a 6-under 66 in the second round, tying for the sixth-lowest individual round in program history in the process. He posted even-par 72s to sandwich the low round and earn the top-10 finish.
Evan Eichenlaub and Benji Garcia Moreira each finished inside the top-30 with an even-par 216 and 1-over 217, respectively. Leo Xu, competing as an individual also tied for 26th overall with a 1-over 217.
GW will return to action in the spring, beginning with the Dorado Beach Collegiate on Feb. 22-24, hosted by UNCG in Dorado, Puerto Rico.
