1/13/2025 4:54:00 PM | Men's Basketball
WASHINGTON - GW men's basketball returns to Foggy Bottom on Wednesday to host Duquesne at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and also available in the DMV on Monumental Sports Network. The first 500 fans will receive a DC vanity license plate as part of "DMV Night".
BUILDING BLOCKS
GW has secured back-to-back wins over top-100 KenPom teams in Dayton and Rhode Island, doing so for the first time since the run to the 2015-16 NIT. As a result, the Revolutionaries have climbed to their highest KenPom ranking since sitting at 100th on November 22, 2016.
GW is one of three teams in the A-10 with multiple Quad 1 or 2 wins this year and the only one to be undefeated in such games (2-0).
BALANCING THINGS OUT
Rafael Castro became the eighth different Revolutionary to lead the team in scoring with his 16 points at URI. GW is tied with Missouri for the most different leading scorers in the NCAA.
Castro joins seven teammates who have led the team in scoring in at least one game this year: Darren Buchanan Jr. (six times), Gerald Drumgoole Jr. (three times), Trey Autry (twice), Christian Jones (twice), Jacoi Hutchinson, Trey Moss and Dayan Nessah (once each). Last season, GW had four different leading scorers.
GW has also had nine different players record a double-digit effort and four different players score at least 20 points this year.
HISTORY VS. DUQUESNE
Wednesday marks the 92nd matchup between GW and Duquesne, with the Buff & Blue holding a decisive 55-36 edge in the series. The Revolutionaries have dropped back-to-back games to the Dukes with Coach Caputo still eyeing his first win over Duquesne.BUILDING BLOCKS

HISTORY VS. DUQUESNE
GW's last triumph over Duquesne came in triple overtime at the Smith Center, 98-93, on March 2, 2022. GW is 29-12 all-time at home against the Dukes, although the last two wins have come by five points in the aforementioned triple OT game, and by two points in the second game of a back-to-back in the COVID-affected 2020-21 season.
Darren Buchanan Jr. scored 19 points to go along with seven rebounds in last year's meeting. Trey Autry and Jacoi Hutchinson (five points each) are the only other Revolutionaries still active from last year's meeting.
A LOOK AT THE DUKES
Duquesne enters Wednesday's contest playing its best basketball of the season, sitting at 2-1 in A-10 play with home wins over Saint Joseph's (in OT) and Rhode Island, sandwiched around a six-point road loss at Davidson. The Dukes, who won the A-10 Championship a year ago and advanced to the NCAA Round of 32, are in their first year under Dru Joyce, who took over for the retired Keith Dambrot.
After starting the year 0-6, Duquesne has won seven of its last nine games, including a 16-point thrashing of top-60 foe UC Irvine. Canisius transfer Tre Dinkins leads a trio of Dukes averaging double digits with 11.3 ppg and also ranks 10th in the A-10 with 36 3s. Kareem Rozier stirs the drink for Duquesne with 3.8 assists per game, ranking 8th in the nation with a 3.75 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Former Revolutionary Maximus Edwards is averaging 6.2 ppg on 36.4% FG (19.1% 3s) in his first year since transferring from GW.
