Men's Basketball Signs Home-and-Home Agreement with Boston College

GW men's basketball announced a home-and-home series with ACC member Boston College on Friday, with a pair of games that will take place over the next two campaigns.
The Buff & Blue will visit Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts on Saturday, Dec. 12 to start the series, before the Eagles return the trip to Foggy Bottom in November 2027 at a date to be determined. The two programs have met just once before, a 76-64 victory for GW in the 1997 Maui Invitational.
BC will represent GW's first "Power 5" opponent since facing Kansas State in the 2024 Paradise Jam and first true road game at a P5 foe since visiting South Carolina in Dec. 2023. GW's most recent triumph over a P5 school came in the last visit of one to the Smith Center, a 79-55 romp of South Carolina in 2022. Next season's matchup will be the first trip for an ACC team to GW since Miami visited in 2017.
The Eagles enter a new era in 2026-27 with former UConn assistant Luke Murray taking over the reins of the program this season after winning a pair of National Championships with the Huskies. Former Revolutionary Luke Hunger transferred to Boston College for his final year after averaging 8.4 ppg and 5.1 rpg with GW last season.
George Washington's non-conference schedule now features five announced games: home matchups with Navy and American and neutral-site contests with San Francisco and Utah State as part of the Texas Legends College Classic. Additionally, GW will host Georgetown in exhibition action on Alumni & Families Weekend. Â
