Men's Basketball to Take Part in Texas Legends College Classic

The next piece of the 2026-27 GW men's basketball non-conference schedule puzzle has been announced as George Washington will head to Frisco, Texas for the Texas Legends College Classic presented by Kia in mid-December. The American Heart Association will serve as the event's official charitable partner.
The all mid-major event will feature the Revolutionaries squaring off with San Francisco on Saturday, December 19 and Utah State on Monday, December 21. Both games will take place at Comerica Center, home of the NBA G League's Texas Legends with tip times and TV to be announced.
San Francisco has won 20+ games eight times in the last 10 seasons and has finished inside the KenPom top 100 six times in the stretch, highlighted by an NCAA Tournament appearance under now-Florida head coach Todd Golden in 2022. The Dons went 17-16 last season and advanced to the West Coast Conference Quarterfinals.
Utah State, who joined the Pac 12 this summer, has been one of the most consistent mid-major powerhouses in the country, advancing to four-straight NCAA Tournaments and picking up first round wins in 2024 and this past March over Villanova. The Aggies have made the tourney seven of the last eight years with 26+ wins six times. Longtime Northern Iowa coach Ben Jacobson was announced as the program's new head coach in March, replacing Jerrod Calhoun, who left for Cincinnati.
The Texas Legends College Classic will feature eight games over four days of high-level, mid-major competition. Ticket information and additional event details will be announced in the near future. The full schedule is below:Â
