Men’s Basketball Takes Opener vs. Navy, 91-39
11/2/2026 10:35:00 PM | Men's Basketball
A power outage on GW's Foggy Bottom campus on Monday morning left the Opening Night doubleheader for the Revolutionaries' men's and women's basketball teams momentarily in question. By midday power was restored and by the nightcap, there had been a surge.
Electrified by a three-point barrage that saw George Washington shoot the cliched lights out, GW's high voltage attack connected on 14-of-27 (.519) from long range.
Led by Felix Kossaras (four three-pointers made), Ryder Frost and true freshman Promis N'Landu in their GW debuts, each of whom tied for game-high scoring honors with 14 points off the bench, the Buff & Blue turned the juice up, and after a 44-24 halftime score gave way to a 15-0 jolt to open the second half, the current of buckets hit max capacity.
With a lead as large as 55 and having never trailed in the contest, Chris Caputo was able to show the team's depth with 10 different players logging at least 17 minutes. The win ties GW's largest margin of victory since the 2014-15 season opener, a 92-40 victory of Grambling State.
The season continues at home on Saturday when Hampton visits for a 6 p.m. tip on ESPN+.
