GW men's basketball will take part in another pair of high-profile, neutral-site matchups this season as part of the Greenbrier Tip-Off River Division, as announced on Thursday.
The Revolutionaries will square off with UAB in their first matchup on Friday, November 20 at 2 p.m. before seeing Western Kentucky on Sunday, November 22, also at 2 p.m. Both games will be played at Colonial Hall at The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.Â
Travel packages, which include tickets to GW's games in the official fan section, accommodations, exclusive access to resort activities and more, are on sale now. Fans interested in securing packages can visit GreenbrierTipOff.com/Travel.
UAB has advanced to a pair of NCAA tournament appearances since 2022 and has won 20+ games in all six of head coach Andy Kennedy's seasons in Birmingham, including a 20-12 mark last year. GW is 1-3 all-time against UAB, but has not faced the Blazers since a 2016 neutral-site contest in Kansas City.
Western Kentucky, out of Conference USA, is coming off an 18-14 (11-9) campaign a year ago and enters year three under head coach Hank Plona. The two programs have met just once all-time, a neutral site meeting in Lexington, Ky., in 2001.
GW is now scheduled for four neutral-site contests against strong mid-majors opponents this upcoming season when including the Texas Legends College Classic encounters with San Francisco and Utah State. All four foes won at least 17 games a year ago and three are ranked in the preseason top-125 by Bart Torvik.
Currently travel packages are the best way to guarantee your tickets to the Greenbrier Tip-Off. Individual tickets will go on sale starting September 30, with a one-day presale taking place the day prior. To register for the ticket presale, visit GreenbrierTipOff.com/tickets.
