Wiesemann, Giraldo Named All-Conference

WASHINGTON - GW tennis received a pair of honors on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team, announced on Tuesday, with Stella Wiesemann earning first team honors and Gabriela Giraldo placing on the second team.
Wiesemann was named to the first team for the third time in her career after pacing the Revolutionaries in the No. 1 flight all season. Wiesemann went 11-6 in singles during the spring campaign, including winning her final seven matches. She posted a strong 6-2 mark against A-10 foes. She also won 10 of her final 11 doubles matches, posting a nearly flawless 5-1 mark in conference action.
Giraldo earns the second postseason honor of her career after earning a spot on the first team last year. Giraldo won four of her last five singles matches at the No. 2 flight and held a 4-3 record against A-10 opponents. She teamed up with Wiesemann in the top doubles flight to win her last eight matches of the season.
