Lacrosse Hosts VCU for Pride Game Saturday

WASHINGTON -Â GW lacrosse is back at the Vern on Saturday afternoon for its penultimate home game of the season, hosting VCU in the annual Pride Game. Opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. with live coverage on ESPN+.

GW was tied at seven with Revolutionary Rival George Mason entering the fourth quarter last Saturday, but saw the host Patriots score six times in the final frame to pull away with a 13-8 victory. Emma Nowakowski scored five of GW's eight goals in the game while Desiree Kleberg scored twice.

As part of its annual Pride Game, the Buff & Blue will be sporting special warmup shirts featuring the Pride flag with the GW logo on the front and "Love is Love" on the back.Â

VCU is 4-9 on the campaign following a 16-8 loss at No. 11 Virginia on Wednesday. The Rams have alternated wins and losses in their last seven games, but all three wins in the stretch have come against A-10 opponents, including a 20-5 thrashing of Duquesne last Saturday.
