ORLANDO, Fla. - Accelerated by a pair of top-10 performances, GW golf placed second at the A-10 Championship at the Evermore Resort. The runner-up finish for the Buff & Blue is the best since winning the conference crown in 2012.
GW posted a 5-under 283 as a team on Sunday to finish 5-over for the championship at 869, GW's lowest total at the A-10 Championship since 2017. VCU won the team title at 20-under (844).
The feat was possible due to top-ten finishes from sophomores Manuel Barbachano and Rodrigo Barhona. Barbachano tied for the low round of the day with a 5-under 67, bringing him back to even for the championship and into a tie for fifth. He tallied six birdies on the day against just one bogey.
Barahona birdied four of the last six holes to finish with a 2-under 70 on Sunday. He tied for seventh overall at 1-over.
Jakub Hrinda, who was named to the A-10 All-Conference team for the second-straight year, finished in a tie for 12th at 3-over following an even-par 72 Sunday. He becomes just the third golfer in program history to earn multiple All A-10 awards, joining Logan Lowe (2016-19) and Jack Persons (2014-15). Jed Dy also tied for 12th overall after carding a 74 in the final 18.
