WASHINGTON - GW men's basketball rounds out the regular season with a trip to Pittsburgh to battle Duquesne on Saturday. Tip is scheduled for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
SCENARIO SEASON
GW can finish as high as the No. 13 seed ahead of next week's A-10 Championship with a win and losses by Davidson and Saint Louis. A win plus losses from one of Davidson or Saint Louis would put the Revolutionaries in the No. 14 seed.
A loss or a win plus wins from Davidson and Saint Louis would make GW the No. 15 seed next week in Brooklyn.
SNAPPING THE SKID
Wednesday's triumph was cathartic for the Buff & Blue, who snapped the program's longest losing streak since 1989. GW shot a season-best 58.7% (27-of-46), tied a season-high with 15 3-pointers (one off tying the program record) and dished out 19 assists, a high against A-10 competition.
The Buff & Blue particularly took off in the second half, shooting 63.6% after halftime, including 7-of-8 inside the arc. GW's effective field goal percentage of 75% was its best since a 103-77 win over Richmond on Feb. 21, 2018 (77%). The Revolutionaries led for 14:14 in the game, more than the last four games combined (14:12).
A LOOK AT THE DUKES
Duquesne entered the season with high hopes with a returning core, but got off to a slow start in A-10 play, dropping its first five games, four of which came against teams currently in the league's top five. Since, though, the Dukes have won 10 of their last 13 and have moved above .500 at 9-8 thanks to three straight victories, including a 69-59 win at VCU on Tuesday.

Dae Dae Grant averages 17.0 ppg for Duquesne, highlighted by a nearly flawless 95.7% (132-138) mark at the free throw line. Jimmy Clark III is the lone other double-digit scorer at 14.8 ppg and also leads the league with 70 steals (2.3 per game).
Duquesne owns the third-best defense in the league during A-10 play and his limited foes to 66.8 ppg this season, 48th nationally. The Dukes have forced turnovers on nearly 20% of opponents possessions during league play and have limited foes to 29% shooting from beyond the arc, both best in the A-10. Offensively, Duquesne is 14th in scoring, but leads the circuit with 12.4 fast-break points per game.
