Lacrosse Begins Three-Game Road Stint at Old Dominion Tuesday

Opening draw scheduled for 1 p.m. at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex
WASHINGTON – GW lacrosse will begin its three-game road stint Tuesday in Norfolk, Va., at Old Dominion. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m., with live coverage available on ESPN+.
HISTORY WITH THE MONARCHS
GW beat Old Dominion 16-6 in 2021, the last meeting between the programs. Over the years, GW lacrosse has split its pair of matchups against the Monarchs, losing 10-7 at home in 2016.
LAST TIME OUT
After a four game losing streak, GW lacrosse picked up its second win of the season versus Robert Morris on Saturday, topping the Colonials, 16-9. Emma Nowakowski earned her first career sock trick, boasting six goals and two assists. Phoebe Mullarkey, Bailey Aaron and Desiree Kleberg all had hat tricks. GW held a 35-19 advantage in shots on goal, a 19-10 advantage on draw controls and a 21-20 advantage on ground balls. Nowakowski had a season-high number of draw controls (8).Â
SO FAR THIS SEASON
Mullarkey leads the team in goals (13), while Everly Kessler and Kleberg lead the squad in assists (5). Stella Ray leads the team in draw controls (34) and ground balls (16). Mullarkey also has the highest shot on goal percentage on the team with a .893.
SCOUTING OLD DOMINION
The Monarchs (2-4) are coming off a 10-8 loss against Lehigh on Saturday afternoon. Katie McGrain was named to the American Athletic Conference (AAC) preseason team this season. Sydney Taylor leads the team with 12 goals. Lilly Siskind and Emma Arnold lead the team in assists (4). Arnold also leads the team in accumulated draw controls (18). Jenna Peccia leads the team in accumulated ground balls (16). Old Dominion finished with a record of 4-13 in 2023.
