Tennis Heads to North Carolina for Two Matches

WASHINGTON -Â GW tennis is on the road this weekend for a pair of matches, beginning with a conference encounter with Davidson on Friday at 3 p.m. The Buff & Blue will then head to UNCW on Saturday for a 1 p.m. first serve.

GW went 1-2 in a trio of matches, earning an A-10 victory over George Mason (4-0), before falling to Sam Houston State (3-4) and Liberty (0-4). The Revolutionaries sit at 1-3 in league play thanks to the win over the Patriots and look to earn a second triumph on Friday vs. Davidson.

Davidson is 2-2 in A-10 play and 10-5 overall after splitting a pair of matches last weekend vs. UMass (W, 4-3) and Richmond (L, 3-4). The Wildcats had previously earned an A-10 win over Duquesne (5-2) and fell at the hands of VCU (2-5). GW lost at Davidson last year, 2-5, with wins from Stella Wiesemann and Gabriela Giraldo.
UNCW is 7-4 overall and 2-2 in CAA play after a loss at College of Charleston last weekend. GW has made the trek to Wilmington for two fall events in 2021 and 2022, but is squaring off in a dual with the Seahawks for the first time since March 2020.
