PHILADELPHIA - GW lacrosse dropped its third-straight A-10 conference game, falling on the road at Saint Joseph's, 20-6.
The Hawks raced out to an early 9-0 lead in the first 13 minutes of the game before GW got on the board with a goal from Phoebe Mullarkey from Desiree Kleberg in the final moments of the opening quarter. Mullarkey followed up with another tally in the first minute of the second quarter before a Bailey Aaron goal made it three in a row for the Revolutionaries.
After a pair of Saint Joseph's markers, Emma Nowakowski potted her team-leading 27th goal of the season to make it 11-4 at the break.
Much like the first half, St. Joe's started hot in the second stanza with five straight goals to put the game out of reach. Nowakowski scored her second of the game in the third quarter and Shea Baggett tallied in the final frame to account for all of GW's offense.
St. Joe's held a 38-21 shot advantage in the game, including a 31-16 lead in shots on goal. Arden Bogle started in net for the Buff & Blue and made five saves on 14 shots. Mia Caro came on in relief and made six saves in 17 shots.
GW will now return home looking for its first A-10 win on Sunday when it hosts Davidson. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
