Golf’s Bandon Dunes Championship Cancelled

BANDON, Ore. - The 2024 Bandon Dunes Championship has been cancelled due to consistent inclement weather.
"We're certainly disappointed in the decision to cancel the tournament," head coach Chuck Scheinost said. "That being said, I thought we were playing very well in some adverse conditions and showed great progress and skill that we can take into future tournaments."
Sunday's first round was postponed due to a deluge of rain and the tournament was shortened to a 36-hole event.
Play got underway on Monday, but was suspended after approximately 12 holes of action. The competition committee then decided to cancel the championship in light of not being able to complete a fair first round in order to complete the shortened event.
GW will return to action next Monday at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate in Tucson, Ariz.
