Gymnastics Finishes First at LIU Dual Meet

GW posts season high score of 195.575
BROOKVILLE, NY – GW gymnastics scored a 195.575 at LIU on Sunday in their second first-place finish of the season. LIU came in second with a score of 192.450.
GW scored a 48.675 on bars, a 48.300 on beam, 49.100 on floor and a 49.100 on vault.
Anneliese Silverman took first place in the all-around with a score of 39.175. Kendall Whitman took first place on floor out of all performers with a score of 9.925. Sarah Zois placed first on vault with a score of 9.875. Whitman also placed first on beam with a score of 9.750. Rachel Katz placed first on bars with a score of 9.825.
FIRST ROTATION: BARS (48.675)
Following Katz's 9.825, Sophia Tyeryar and Delaney DeHaan each added a 9.750. Madi McMullen posted a 9.700, Anneliese Silverman scored a 9.650 and Kendall Whitman finished the rotation with an 8.975.
SECOND ROTATION: VAULT (48.925)
Sarah Zois posted an overall first place finish with a 9.875. Rachel Katz added a 9.850. Anneliese Silverman scored a 9.800. Marlee York added a 9.750. Kasey Burke scored a 9.650, and Kendall Whitman ended the rotation with a 9.475.
THIRD ROTATION: FLOOR (49.200)
Kendall Whitman placed first overall with a 9.925. Anneliese Silverman set a new career-high with a score of 9.900, and Deana Sheremeta matched her career-high score also with a 9.900. Payton Lynch added a 9.775. Marlee York scored a 9.700, and Kasey Burke ended the rotation with a 9.525.
FOURTH ROTATION: BEAM (48.775)
Kendall Whitman posted a 9.850. Silverman, Sheremeta and Zois each added a score of 9.825. Delaney DeHaan scored a 9.450, and Brooke Izzo finished the rotation with a 9.025.

GW gymnastics returns home to the Smith Center on Friday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. for their Pink Meet, hosting Kent State, UNH, Towson and William & Mary.
