Five different Colonials find the back of the net
WASHINGTON -Â GW lacrosse got off to a hot start with two goals in the first five minutes, but was unable to contain Richmond's impressive offense the rest of the day as the Spiders rolled to a 17-5 victory.
Emily Mowbray opened the scoring in a woman-down situation just 3:30 into the game and Kerry McKeever added a second tally just 90 seconds later to put the Buff & Blue ahead, 2-0. Richmond, though, scored the final four goals of the frame and the first four tallies of the second quarter to open up an 8-2 lead.
Shea Baggett got GW back on the board in the later stages of the second quarter, but the Spiders scored three times on a woman-up situation to go into the locker room up, 11-3. Richmond then extended its lead with five goals in the third quarter before GW got goals from Whitney Moran and Amelia Moran in the fourth.
