Moran paces Buff & Blue with four goals
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - GW lacrosse built a four-goal lead at halftime on Wednesday night at William & Mary, but saw the host Tribe rally for a 10-9 victory in the non-conference finale.
The Buff & Blue's potent offense, which came in averaging over 16 goals per game in its last three, scored all nine of its goals before intermission. After falling behind 2-0 in the first three minutes, GW scored six-consecutive goals over the next 15 minutes to grab a 6-2 lead.
GW extended the lead to as many as five at 8-3 before going into the locker room with a 9-5 cushion, thanks to a goal from Amber Germer with four seconds remaining.
However, the Buff & Blue were shutout in the second stanza as William & Mary struck twice in the third quarter and ultimately tied the game with 10:33 left in the final quarter. Sarah Cipolla then put the Tribe ahead for good with 4:54 left as GW's last attempt was saved.

- Whitney Moran followed up her five-goal performance on Saturday at VCU with four more goals on Wednesday night. Her 27 goals rank second on the team.
