Lacrosse Returns Home to Host Mercer

Opening draw from the Mount Vernon Lacrosse Field set for 1 p.m.
WASHINGTON – Following a pair of road games, GW lacrosse returns to the Mount Vernon Lacrosse Field on Tuesday for a 1 p.m. opening draw against the Mercer Bears. Live coverage will be available on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT
GW was held to five goals in a 16-5 decision at American on Wednesday. Amber Gemer and Kerry McKeever each netted a pair of goals and Amelia Moran scored the first of her career in the setback. Mia Caro matched her career-best with 11 saves in net on 27 shots faced.
NEW TO THE OFFENSEÂ
With Moran's first career tally coming at American, GW's offense now has four student-athletes who have potted their first career goals this season: Everly Kessler, Haley Bolton, Moran and Kiki Rotay. Additionally, Whitney Moran and McKeever have combined for 12 of GW's goals this season, their first tallies in Buff & Blue since joining the program as grad transfers last fall.
MATCHING UP WITH MERCERÂ
The Bears are 2-1 overall with a recent 15-14 win over American on Saturday. Mercer sits first overall in the Big South and first in the conference averaging 13.33 goals per game. Shannon Urey leads the Bears with 11 goals and Maddi Koury has a team-leading nine assists.
